People often think that if they host their birthday party in a restaurant or a separate space that it’s automatically more conducive for a performance.
However, often times restaurants will cluster tables together leaving no room for children and adults to breathe or walk around. This won’t create the sedentary atmosphere you may be looking for, particularly for toddler birthday parties. Instead kids feel restless and confined.
Thus, when I perform at a restaurant or public space, it’s important to create enough space for the people participating in the music to sit together. We don’t need a ridiculous amount of room; just enough so children aren’t knocking into tables and chairs.
